Riker is one of Worf's offspring. We used to let Worf run loose. One time Worf got away
and spent some time with a Border Collie/Golden Retriever female. After several weeks, we learned that Worf was
a father to an entire litter of puppies. My parents drove their 4-wheeler to where the pups were and agreed to take
on of the males. So, they brought home little Riker. As long as Worf didn't try to kill him, we were going to
keep him.
It is a tragedy that we were not able to financially take all of the puppies and all but two were
given away. The two that didn't find homes were abandoned by the mother's owner and were killed by passing cars.
I am thankful that at least we were able to save one, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
Now, Riker, who is also named after a Star Trek character, lives happily in a fenced in area with
his daddy. He is fed every day, and loved every second.

he even thinks like a puppy. Riker is one puppy that will never grow up. He will always have the heart and
spirit of a puppy!
